CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Two pedestrians were killed in separate traffic accidents this weekend while illegally walking in the road.

In Williamsburg County, the coroner said 42-year-old Buster Joe Waywood died when a Chevy Tahoe hit him on Highway 261 around 9:30 p.m. Friday. The accident happened about a mile outside of the town of Hemmingway, according to Sonny Collins with Highway Patrol.

In Berkeley County, a pedestrian was also killed after being hit by a Dodge Ram on Red Bank Road around 12:40 a.m.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury identified the victim on Monday as 65-year-old Sally A. McHugh of Goose Creek.

Salisbury says McHugh was transported to Trident ER where she was pronounced dead.
