Threat causes evacuation of Myrtle Beach High

Posted: Updated:

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say Myrtle Beach High School was evacuated for about four hours after a threat was found written on a bathroom wall.

Investigators say officers and bomb-sniffing dogs found nothing dangerous.

Horry County schools said the threat was discovered around 9:45 a.m. Monday. Students stayed at a nearby middle school until 1:30 p.m., when they were cleared to go back inside.

Officials wouldn't detail what was in the threat.

Horry County schools have dealt with a number of bomb threats recently, including five in 15 days at one school last December.
