New solicitor sworn in along Grand Strand

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) -- The new solicitor in Horry and Georgetown counties is about to take office.

Jimmy Richardson will be sworn in as 15th Circuit solicitor at a ceremony Tuesday at the Horry County courthouse.

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley appointed Richardson to take over for Greg Hembree, who was elected to the state Senate in November. Richardson served as a deputy solicitor under Hembree and will serve the final two years of his term.
