SCHP investigating deadly Berkeley County wreck

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly wreck that happened Tuesday evening.

According to troopers, the wreck happened around 6:15 p.m. on U.S. 52 when the driver of a Mini Cooper tried to make a left turn onto the highway from Foxbank Plantation Road when it was struck by a Chevy pickup truck.

LCpl. Judd Jones with SCHP said the driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Berkeley County Coroner's office has identified the driver of the Mini Cooper as 56-year-old Robin Schulte of Moncks Corner. The coroner said Schulte was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating the wreck.
