DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A shooting sent two people to the hospital in Dorchester County early Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson for the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says two people were wounded in a shooting along Wire Road.
According to a police report, the victim changed his story several times while talking to officers, so they are not sure exactly what happened at the home. The victim did admit that he sells marijuana from the Wire Road home, police said.
Deputies are also investigating a separate shooting that occurred a short time later on Parsons Road. Deputies and officers from the Summerville Police Department combed the street around 1 a.m.
In that incident, a friend of the victim said she had stopped to get beer at a gas station before continuing to the Parsons Road home, according to the police report. The woman told police she and the victim left the gas station when a car pulled behind them and flashed its lights.
She said she pulled over and the victim got out of the car. That's when the woman heard gunshots and the victim came back to the car wounded, police said. She took the victim to the hospital for treatment, where police found the duo.
Police later learned the shooting actually happened at the woman's residence on Parsons Road and not on a side street between the gas station and her home.
At the home, police found a man with blood on his hands.
