COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Colleton County sixth grader was expelled this week after being connected to a pair of BB gun incidents at his middle school.
Colleton County Assistant Superintendent Bob Pence said the student first got into trouble this year when he was caught with a BB gun at Colleton County Middle School. Pense confirmed reports that the student was given a second chance at the request of the boy's mother and placed in an alternative school.
Earlier this month, Pence said, another student was caught with a BB gun and school officials traced the gun back to the sixth grader. He was expelled on Dec. 12, Pense confirmed.
The gun was turned over to law enforcement.
Pence said the BB gun was not fired during either incident.
