1 person dies in Colleton County accident Saturday - WCIV-TV | ABC News 4 - Charleston News, Sports, Weather

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A 24-year-old Charleston man died Saturday in a single-vehicle accident in Colleton County. 

Officials with the Colleton County Fire and Rescue said the accident happened on Bennetts Point Road around 1:15 p.m. Saturday.

The coroner's office has not released the name of the victim.. 

According to Colleton County officials, the victim's car was speeding when he lost control in a curve and struck a tree. The 24-year-old was trapped in the car and apparently died on impact. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
