GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man and a woman were injured when their ATV collided with a car in Georgetown County after a New Year's Day parade.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened shortly before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Oatland and Browns Ferry roads. Officials said 19-year-old Waymond Wilson Jr. and 25-year-old Chasadie Grant were on the ATV.
Troopers said Wilson tried to pass a vehicle when that vehicle made a left turn. Wilson crashed into the side of the car, troopers said. Grant and Wilson were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A spokesman for the highway patrol said she expected charges to follow the incident. The driver of the car was charged with failing to yield the right of way.
The crash was not connected to the parade, she said.
