MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Investigators said Wednesday's house fire in Mt. Pleasant was intentionally set.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, witnesses saw a black man wearing dark clothes on the porch of the Rifle Range Road home just before the first started. Other witnesses saw the man throw something into the home, deputies said.
Shortly after the object was thrown into the home, there was a flash and smoke coming from the home, deputies said.
The arsonist then ran for a wooded area, according to deputies. Witnesses told investigators the man can often be seen riding a bicycle in the area.
Based on that information, deputies identified the man as 18-year-old Rahiem Bradley. Deputies arrested Bradley and charged him with third-degree arson.
He is currently being housed at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Officials are still working to determine the motive and what was used to start the fire.
Bradley was supposed to face a bond court judge Thursday night, but the case was continued until 10 a.m. Friday because Charleston County is adding a burglary charge in connection with the same address, officials said.
