MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Mount Pleasant officials want to make Coleman Boulevard a destination, rather than just a road connecting Sullivan's Island and the Ravenel Bridge.

Thursday night they showed a simulation video showing the revitalization project which included a new roundabout.

The simulation used traffic flow predicted for 2033.

The plans also include bike lanes and on-street parking.

Mayor Billy Swails says the changes will revitalize that part of Mount Pleasant.

"Parking, medians, left turn lanes...it's taking Coleman Boulevard and enhancing it and making it our Main Street," said Swails. "We don't have a Main Street."

Construction on a small part of the project will start in February.
