Sen. Scott named to five committees

WASHINGTON (WCIV) -- Newly appointed and sworn in Sen. Tim Scott is getting to work quickly in the U.S. Senate. 

Scott has been named to five committees, his office announced Friday. 

Scott was assigned to the Commerce, Science and Transportation, the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, the Energy and Natural Resources, the Small Business, and the Aging committees. 

"I look forward to working with my new colleagues to find the solutions the American people need right now," Scott said. "By getting our spending under control, revamping our tax code and energizing the entrepreneurial spirit, we can show our children and grandchildren the American Dream is alive and well. We have a great future ahead of us; now it is time to get to work and make it a reality."

Senator Scott also has a new office at 117 Hart Senate Office Building, Washington, DC, 20510. His staff says the location is temporary until he gets a permanent office in the next 30 to 6 days. The phone number at his new office is (202) 224-6121.
