Folly police looking for help solving holiday burglaries

Posted: Updated:

FOLLY BEACH, SC – Approximately 30 properties on Folly Beach were burglarized between Thanksgiving and New year's, officials said Wednesday.

Detectives at Folly Beach Public Safety are currently investigating leads and are asking the public to contact them or Crime Stoppers with any additional information they may have.

"The similarities among the thefts include location and items taken," said Detective Joshua Allen. "All the homes appear to be rental properties throughout the island. It appears the suspect or suspects take electronics such as televisions and other gadgets then exit."

Residents of Folly are asked to be vigilant and call Folly Beach Public Safety at 588-7003 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111 should they see any suspicious activity.
