CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Republican state Rep. Chip Limehouse announced Thursday he would be campaigning for the 1st District seat left open by Tim Scott's appointment to the U.S. Senate.
"Washington isn't getting the job done. America -- and South Carolina -- deserve better. I'm running for Congress to stand up for South Carolina, not cut deals with Barack Obama," Limehouse said.
Limehouse currently serves on the Ways and Means Committee and chairs the Subcommittee on Higher Education in the Statehouse.
