NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.(WCIV) – ‘Let's get ready to rumbllllleeee...' for this year's Monster Jam truck show. The Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam is back in the Lowcountry after a six year hiatus.
The Monster Jam trucks are about 12 feet tall and 12 feet wide. The enormous tires are 66 inches tall and weigh about 700 pounds each. The total weight of a Monster Jam truck is around 10,000 pounds, according to Monster Jam announcer Ken Navitsky.
The trucks reach speeds of up to 100 miles per hour and can fly distances of up to 130 feet in the air. Event organizers say the show sees over four million fans a year with shows across the country and the world.
Tickets to Monster Jam are $20 for adults and $10 for kids. The show runs Friday, January 11th and Saturday, January 12th at 7:30pm at the North Charleston Coliseum.
