CROSS, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Berkeley County Sheriff's
Office is looking for a man they believe robbed the Cross Convenience Store on Old
Highway 6 Tuesday morning.
A spokesman with the sheriff's office say just before 8 a.m., the suspect came into the store, went into the restroom and then approached the counter to buy gum. The clerk told deputies that when he opened the drawer, the suspect sprayed him in the face with pepper spray.
Deputies say the clerk slammed the cash
drawer shut and ran "toward a door away from the cash register to lock herself from
the man" and called 911.
Deputies say the suspect made off with the entire cash
register with its contents and drove off in a grey or silver, four-door
sedan.
The BCSO has released a video showing the suspect and his car.
