COLLETON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Colleton County Fire and Rescue responded to Highway 21 late Saturday night for reports of a motorcycle accident.
The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. about a mile north of Hendersonville Highway (Highway 17-A).
Firefighters said the unidentified driver, a 27-year-old Jonesville man, had no signs of life and was suffering from multiple traumatic injuries.
According to CCFR, the south bound Suzuki motorcycle failed to go around a curve, left the right shoulder of the road and flipped over several times, coming apart before it struck a driveway culvert and was catapulted into the woods.
The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown into the ditch. Crew members searched the area with flashlights and a Thermal Imaging and found no other riders in the area.
