CCSO investigate fatal hit-and-run, victim identified

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened early Monday morning.

Deputies responded to Saint Andrews Blvd. near West Ashley Family Dentistry just after midnight and found the victim lying in the road with fatal injuries.

The incident being investigated by the Charleston County Traffic Division and the Charleston County Coroner's Office, but there is no information on a possible suspect vehicle.

According to the coroner's office, the victim is 44-year-old Benjamin Abercrombie.

Anyone who may have witnessed any incident in the area around midnight is asked to contact the Charleston County Sheriff's Office at 843-202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
