Police: SUV leaves after hitting moped driver on Folly Road

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston police are looking for the driver of a white SUV who hit a moped driver who fell off his moped on Saturday. 

According to a Charleston Police Department report, witnessed told officers that the moped driver turned on to Folly Road from Rivers Point Row and lost control of his moped. While trying to pick up his moped, a driver in a white Chevy Suburban hit the man with the SUV's bumper. 

The driver did not stop and witnesses at the scene of the incident did not get the vehicles tag, police said. 

The moped driver was charged with driving under the influence.
