BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Lowcountry couple has agreed to give up custody of their children after a second dog-biting incident in their home.

Quintin and Chantal McGrew are trying to turn over custody to their children's grandparents after deputies and Department of Social Services agents investigated dog bites on the McGrew's 3-year-old child.

Now the state has to conduct a study for possible placement. Until then, the children will remain in state custody.

Last year, the McGrew's youngest child was mauled to death by a family dog. Quintin McGrew is waiting to stand trial for neglect charges stemming from that child's death.
