Fort Gibson -
A Fort Gibson Woman is being charged with child endangerment after she reportedly left her three kids inside a car so she could go gambling, late Monday afternoon.
Officers were called to the Cherokee Casino on Highway 62 around 4:30 PM.
When they arrived, the mother, Sharonda Sheppard, 29, told them that she had only been inside for "ten minutes." Police say a subsequent investigation of the casino's security cameras revealed Sheppard had actually been inside the casino for forty minutes.
Fort Gibson Police tell KTUL.com, the children, ages 8 & 10, appeared to be unharmed despite the cold temperatures outside.
Sheppard is currently booked in the Muskogee County on charges of Child Endangerment.
