Georgetown teen shoots self with hunting rifle

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- Georgetown police said a local teen shot himself in the foot with a hunting rifle Wednesday night.

According to police, a 15-year-old Georgetown High School student shot himself in the right foot with a hunting rifle around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.  The teen was taken to a nearby hospital and treated, police said. 

He was at home with his younger sister at the time of the shooting.  

No charges have been filed, but police are still investigating the incident.
