ST. MAARTEN (WCIV) -- The men accused of murdering a Mount Pleasant couple during their Caribbean vacation are scheduled to appear in court.
On January 22, all three suspects in the case will have to appear in court for a procedural court session but the case itself will not be dealt with yet.
According to Solicitor-General Taco Stein, both the defense and prosecutor will be allowed to ask the judge for additional investigations on their behalf. Meanwhile the prosecutor's office has asked for psychiatric and psychological reports on each suspect but these will not be completed on January 22.
Stein said the case could be postponed until March or later, depending on how many requests for additional investigation will be granted by the presiding judge.
Mayshane Johnson admitted in October to being involved in the stabbing of Michael and Thelma King. He appeared in court on Jan. 17 but his case was postponed until the hearing on Jan 22.
