Craig County Cold Case Draws National Attention with TV Special

Posted: Updated:

The mysterious disappearance of two Craig County girls 13 years ago is drawing national attention with an Investigation Discovery special.

16-year-olds Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman disappeared from a sleep over at Ashley's parents house on December 30, 1999. Both of Ashley's parents had been shot dead and their mobile home had been set on fire.

Lorene Bible continues to search for her daughter. She helped Investigation Discovery with its segment about the mystery that will air Monday, January 21st at 8 p.m. central.

"They [Discovery] called and said, 'You know, we are looking into doing this story. We know there's not an ending, but it's something that we want to see if we can do. Would you be interested?' Doesn't matter what it is. I jump on it in a heartbeat," said Bible.

The segment includes reenactments, and according to Bible, investigates several leads and individuals.

The Bible family hopes the segment will lead to more information about Lauria. The family has heard from several other families whose children have gone missing over the years.
