NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston hotel was evacuated Monday morning after a fire was reported.
Fire officials said the source of the smoke was from a belt in an air handler. The power to the unit was shut down and a technician was called to repair it, said Bianca Sancic, the public information officer for the North Charleston Fire Department.
The five-story hotel on International Boulevard was evacuated, but fire officials did not know how many people were in the hotel at the time of the incident.
There were no reported injuries.
