Missing man's body washes up at Charlestowne Landing

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- The body of a man missing since Saturday was found Tuesday afternoon upriver from the place he was last seen.

RIchard Sloane  was found in Old Creek near Charlestowne Landing by an employee who saw the man's body floating in the water.

According to police, 64-year-old Sloane disappeared from his boat home near the Ashley River Bridge around noon Friday.

A friend waved down police around 11:45 a.m. Saturday to notify them that Sloane was missing.

Divers with Charleston Police, Charleston County Sheriff's Office and Charleston County Rescue spent the weekend searching the area near his boat.
