NEW YORK (WCIV) -- Katie Couric will sit down with Manti Te'o and his parents, Brian and Ottilia Te'o, who are speaking out for the first time on camera about the dead girlfriend hoax.
The Notre Dame football star and Heisman Trophy runner-up has claimed he is the victim of a hoax, after it was revealed that his girlfriend never existed, and her death was faked.
"Well, if—anybody put yourself in my situation. Katie, put yourself in my situation. I, my whole world told me that she died on September 12th. Everybody knew that. This girl, who I committed myself to died on September 12th. Now I get a phone call on December sixth, saying that she's alive and then I'm going to be put on national TV two days later. And to ask me about the same question. You know, what would you do?" Manti Te'o told Couric in the interview.
The full interview will air this Thursday on ABCNews4 at 3 p.m.
