Beaufort school molestation suit settled for $37K

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) - A lawsuit against the Beaufort County School District has been settled.

The Beaufort Gazette reports the family alleging mistreatment of their child will get $37,000 from the school district. The original lawsuit claimed the disabled student was mistreated and sexually molested.

The molestation claim was later dropped.

Officials said while the district is settling the suit, it is not an admission of guilt.
