GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) - A Goose Creek man was arrested Friday on child pornography charges after a six week investigation by Berkeley County deputies, the Internet crimes task force and Goose Creek police.
According to the state Attorney General's office, 25-year-old Deangelo Cornell Young was arrested and charged with five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 11 counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Young's bond was set at $160,000 and ordered to not contact anyone under the age of 17, stay off the Internet, and stay at least a half a mile away from areas where children gather.
Officials said the investigation started on Dec. 11 when Berkeley County deputies downloaded five files containing child porn that linked back to Young's home. Officers executed a search warrant Jan. 23 and seized two laptops and three hard drives.
A search of the devices found more than 400 videos containing child porn and written tutorials on how to abuse children, officials said.
According to the Attorney General's office, Young later admitted to downloading the materials.
