NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - A K-9 unit is hosting a demonstration at Charleston Southern University Tuesday evening to promote gun and drug education.

According to Jeff Urso, the owner of the South Carolina K-9 team, a group of Labradors will enter the school's cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. and demonstrate their ability to detect scents.

SC K9 Detection Services, Inc. provides private and discrete K9 firearm and drug detection services to schools, companies or any other person needing K9 detection services. All of my dogs hold national certifications for detection work and all are trained and certified by Southern Coast K9, Inc. which is known worldwide for their high quality detection dog training.

CSU officials say the demonstration is being held to "remind students of CSUs policy as well as state law after which the K9 handler demos the dogs ability to detect drugs and guns."
