Clemson hosting cotton growers meeting

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) - Cotton growers from across South Carolina are in Orangeburg to discuss their crops.

Clemson Extension and the S.C. Cotton Board are hosting the S.C. Cotton Growers Annual Meeting on Tuesday in Orangeburg.

The daylong program includes a report from the association. There are also presentations on bale contamination, weed-control options and new cotton varieties.

Several cotton industry experts are scheduled to give presentations. Gary Adams, vice president for economics and policy analysis for the National Cotton Council of America in Cordova, Tenn., is planning to give an outlook for the crop's upcoming year.
