A man robbed a Summerville bank Tuesday afternoon, Summerville police said. According to police, the man entered the First Citizens Bank on North Main Street shortly before 3 p.m. and demanded money. The man did not display a weapon, officers said. More >>
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man suspected of robbing theNorth Main Street First Citizen's could be the man wanted in West Columbia for a similar robbery.
According to police, the man entered the Summerville First Citizens Bank shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday and demanded money. The man did not display a weapon, officers said.
The robber is described as a 6-foot-tall white man between 30 and 40 years old weighing about 250 pounds.
Captain Jon Rogers with the Summerville PD said that they think the same man is responsible for a bank robbery that happened in Columbia two weeks ago.
According to the West Columbia Police, the robbery happened at the BB&T Bank on Sunset Blvd. the afternoon of Jan 15.
Surveillance photos from both crime scenes show a man not only similar in physical appearance but wearing similar clothes as well.
