MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WCIV) - A call from a concerned citizen led to the arrest of two men in Murrells Inlet who deputies believe are behind a series of break-ins and burglaries.

According to a Georgetown County Sheriff's Office report, Alan Edward Goldstein and Jacob Michael Walton were arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and five counts of breaking and entering into motor vehicles.

Deputies were sent to the community around 4 a.m. Wednesday after receiving calls of a suspicious vehicle being parked on Collins Creek Drive. Deputies looked inside the car and noticed what appeared to be stolen items.

Goldstein and Walton walked out of a wooded area pushing a bicycle toward the car, so deputies stopped them and asked about the bike, the report states. Neither man answered the deputies.

The two men were arrested and placed in the Georgetown County Detention Center until a bond hearing could be scheduled.
