CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston police responded to a domestic disturbance Sunday but walked away with arrests for growing pot.

According to CPD spokesman Charles Francis, the domestic disturbance call came in around 2:30 p.m. from a home on Argonne Street in West Ashley.

Corey Marquis Gice, 25, is charged with two counts of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Kamall Kemar Simpson, 21, and 27-year-old Heather M. Ford are both charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute

Francis said when police arrived, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the house. Ford answered the door and said the fight was over and that her boyfriend, Simpson,  was leaving.

Ford let the officers into her home and once inside, Francis said they found 1.5 grams of marijuana on a table in the living room.

Another roommate, Gice, was arrested when he came up the street towards the backyard. Police said they found 10 grams of marijuana on him.

After a search of the home, police confiscated 45 marijuana plants in various stages of growth and three pounds of marijuana.

Ford's two children also lived in the home. Representatives for the Department of Social Services took custody of them.
