North Charleston mayor to give update on Park Circle development

Posted: Updated:

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – North Charleston's mayor and a city councilman will hold a press conference Friday to provide an update on the Park Circle area revitalization and Oak Terrace Preserve real estate development projects.

The event will focus on the city's plans at the Navy Yard, Garco Park and the former Naval Hospital site, a statement from the city states.

The city is starting the second phase of its 55-acre Oak Terrace Preserve development, which includes plans for 52 single-family homes and 16 townhomes in what is slated to be a much larger housing development.

Friday's press conference will be held at 11 a.m. at the Oak Terrace Preserve Neighborhood at 1500 East Liberty Park Circle.

The press conference is serving as a prequel to the area's block party on Saturday that will include food, entertainment, activities and live music.

Saturday's block party is free and open to the public. That event starts at 11 a.m.
