Couple wanted for death of child arrested in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) - Georgetown County deputies and Mooresville, N.C., police teamed up to capture a couple wanted in North Carolina for murder.

According to a release from the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, 22-year-old Nicholas Burnett Clark and 21-year-old Sheila Amanda Hendley were wanted on murder charges.

Nicholas Clark and Sheila Hendley face charges of first-degree murder and two counts of felony child abuse, according to a report from ABC affiliate in Charlotte, WSOC-TV. In March, police and paramedics were called to their home on Sharpe Street, the station reported.

The child died at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

Clark and Hendley are being housed at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending
extradition to North Carolina.
