Coroner IDs victim in fatal Moncks Corner car accident

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) - The state Highway Patrol responded to a fatal accident in Moncks Corner Friday afternoon. 

The accident happened on U.S. Old 52 around 2:45 p.m., the Highway Patrol said. According to officials, the driver was headed north on Old 52 and veered off the left side of the roadway. 

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. 

The Berkeley County Coroner identified the victim as 60-year-old WIlliam Clyde Lynch of Moncks Corner. The coroner's office is still looking into how Lynch died.

The Highway Patrol and the coroner's office are investigating the accident.
