A David L. Moss prisoner died at an area hospital after a detention officer noticed a female prisoner in distress, Friday, Feb. 8.
According to a news release, a detention officer noticed Gwendolyn Young, 52, in distress. The officer called for a medical emergency where the on-site medical staff began to aid Young.
EMSA and Tulsa Fire responded and transported Young to an area hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
The cause of death will be determined by the State Medical Examiner's Office.
Young was serving a year long sentence for threatening a public official in 2011. She was sentenced on Oct. 24, 2012.
According to a court document, Young had been found guilty for threatening Honorable Daman Cantrell on July 20, 2011.
