GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) - The bus driver involved in a multi-car accident in Goose Creek Tuesday morning will face charges for the accident, Highway Patrol officials said.
Goose Creek Rural firefighters and South Carolina Highway Patrol officers on Tuesday morning responded to a five-vehicle accident involving a school bus on Liberty Hall Road.
Highway Patrol said the accident happened when the driver of the bus, Yvonne Montgomery, did not stop for a car turning left. The bus hit the car in front of it, leading to a chain reaction involving five vehicles.
One car was pushed into oncoming traffic and hit by a van.
A Berkeley County School District spokesperson confirmed that two Goose Creek High School students were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
A Highway Patrol officials said a total of eight people were taken to a nearby hospitals for treatment.
Liberty Hall Road between Power Drive and Hooks Lane is closed until further notice.
Highway Patrol officials are still investigating the accident.
