No charges to be filed against truck driver in Nick Collins case

Posted: Updated:

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - The driver of the truck who hit a 26-year-old man who was thrown from his friend's car will not be facing charges, police said.

Police said they determined the truck driver did not violate any traffic laws.

Last August, Nick Collins was thrown from his friend's car and run over by an 18-wheeler. Collins went through a handful of surgeries and had his left leg amputated.

Since then, Collins has tackled rehab to help regain strength.
