Teen arrested for James Island burglary

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston police arrested a teen Monday for the burglary of an Affirmation Boulevard home.

The suspect, 17-year-old Derick Alexander Hammond, is charged with burglary in the second degree.

According to officials with the CPD, police responded to the home, located off Harbor View Rd., around 5:15 p.m. Monday.

Investigators say Hammond entered the residence and stole jewelry, money and electronic equipment.
