CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - A second man was arrested Friday in connection to the deadly shooting at a Charleston County night club.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, Derrick Brown was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime as a result of an investigation into the August shooting death of Dominique Grant at Frazier's Club.
Detectives said information that came from the investigation led them to Brown, who they said was working with Reginald Gordon, the other man arrested, at the time of the shooting. Grant was in the driver's seat of a car parked at the club on Aug. 18.
According to investigators, Brown was involved in a fight at another location earlier in the evening and believed that the people involved in the fight were at Frazier's Club. Brown covered his face allegedly used Gordon's gun to fire several shots into Grant's car.
Witnesses saw Gordon earlier in the day with a handgun, deputies said.
Shortly after the shooting, Charleston City Police spotted the gun in Gordon's car.
Ballistics testing by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division confirmed that a shell casing found at the shooting scene matched test fired casings from the gun in Gordon's car.
Brown's bond hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
