CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - It's a busy weekend for competitions on the campus of The Citadel.
Among Saturday's events is an engineering fair for Lowcountry students is held featuring competitions for building bridges and robots.
On the Citadel parade ground, there is also the Storm the Citadel trebuchet competitions. Students build models of the devices which, during the Middle Ages, were used to hurl rocks and other projectiles at fortifications.
Also scheduled is the Black History Bowl in which students from elementary through high school compete based on their knowledge of black history.
