SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - A winter weather system is bringing snow to parts of South Carolina, forcing some closings.
Officials say Greenville County schools canceled all school-related activities scheduled for Saturday afternoon and evening.
Snow fell in parts of the Upstate for several hours Saturday afternoon. The National Weather Service said accumulations of 1 to 2 inches were reported Saturday evening in Taylors, Inman, Welford, Lyman and Spartanburg.
Another round of snow was possible later Saturday.
Crews with the City of Spartanburg's Public Works Department were out at midnight Saturday coating the town's bridges and hills with a salty mixture, and forecasters warn that icy roads are possible because overnight temperatures will drop into the 20s.
