Local chef in running for 'hottest in America' billing

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Charleston chef Frank McMahon, the genius in the kitchen at Hank's Seafood, is one of four finalists in Eater's third annual Hottest Chef in America competition.

McMahon emerged victorious out of the Southern Division, beating out some of the biggest names in the culinary world in Atlanta, Dallas and New Orleans.

Now he's facing Pascal Sauton, of Portland's Milwaukie Kitchen & Wine, Johanna Powell, of Denver's Cafe Aion, and Karen Akunowicz, of Myers+Chang in Boston.

Voting ends Wednesday at 2 p.m. To vote, click here.

The winner will join the winners from 2011 and 2012 "in the pantheon of notable chef hotness."
