NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - The man police identified as a suspect in a fatal North Charleston shooting turned himself in shortly before midnight Thursday.

Police said 23-year-old Terrance Lance is now in the custody of police and will have a bond hearing at 7 p.m. Friday. Police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument that happened earlier in the day.

According to North Charleston police, officers responded at 11:47 a.m. to shots fired at the 2700 block of Saratoga Street. Police spokesman Spencer Pryor said when officers arrived, they found a black male lying in a yard suffering from a gun shot wound.

The Charleston County coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Rodriguez Henderson. Police said Henderson was taken to Medical University Hospital where he later died.

Four Charleston County School District schools were placed on lockdown following the fatal shooting.

According to CCSD spokesman Jason Sakran, Burns Elementary, Garrett Academy, Memminger Elementary and James Simons Elementary schools were on administrative lockdown. The schools were taken off lockdown around 1 p.m.
