Chase Lounge shooting suspect surrenders to Walterboro police

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) - The man wanted in the shooting death of a 52-year-old man at the Chase Lounge in Walterboro surrendered to police Friday evening, officials confirmed.

The suspect, 48-year-old Larry Henderson Jr., is charged with murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.

According to officials with the Colleton County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Chase Lounge around 8:30 Thursday night. Deputies report they found the victim, 52-year-old Leon Cockrum Jr. with several gunshot wounds.

Cockrum was transported immediately to Medical University Hospital in Charleston in critical condition but was pronounced dead around 3 a.m. Friday.
