RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Three people were charged Tuesday in the shooting death of a 64-year-old Ridgeville man.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's deputies arrested 37-year-old Sonny Ray Jones Jr. for killing his step-grandfather, Jimmy Edwards. On Tuesday afternoon, deputies charged Mary Todd Grooms and Endsley P. Grooms in his death.
Mary Todd Grooms is the victim's step-daughter and Endsley Grooms is her husband, deputies said.
All three have been charged with murder. Deputies did not reveal a motive for the killing.
Edwards was found dead at a home on Ridge Road in Ridgeville on February 1.
According to Coroner Chris Nesbit, an autopsy revealed 64-year-old Jimmy Edwards died around 11 p.m. of multiple gunshot wounds to the back of the head.
Jones is charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Investigators report Edwards was shot with a small caliber handgun.
