WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police in Walterboro are on the lookout for a man wanted for throwing a hammer at another man's head at a hotel.
According to Chief Otis Rhodes, Walterboro Public Safety officers responded to the
Sunset Inn on Bells Highway Sunday just before 5 p.m. to break up a fight.
Witnesses told police that the
victim, a 31-year-old man, and 19-year-old Quenton HaKeith Sanders had a series of arguments throughout the day, and that at some point Sanders
left and came back with two other black males.
According to police, one of the black males reportedly
put his hand in his waistband as if he had a gun and the victim pulled a
hammer from his pocket which he threw at Sanders when Sanders struck him with
an unknown blunt object.
Police said Werts blacked
out and didn't wake up until law enforcement was on the scene.
Colleton County
Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim to Colleton County
Medical Center.
On February 25, the victim identified
one of the suspects as Quenton Sanders. Warrants are not out for his arrest for attempted murder.
