A 20-year-old Sperry man was arrested twice in 12 hours.
Tulsa police officers first arrested Cameron Hausner Sunday evening for reportedly stealing items from a shopping center near Woodland Hills Mall.
Security had taken Hausner and his girlfriend into custody for petit larceny.
A police report indicates Hausner gave officers an ID that belonged to someone else. The officer reported it was a trick to get out of the larceny charges.
Then about 12 hours later, officers were called to a convenience store near 81st and Harvard for an alarm call.
When police got there, they were almost hit by a pickup truck speeding out of the parking lot.
They chased the truck going over 100 miles per hour to 3600 N Osage Dr. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers took over the chase once the truck hit Highway 412 and I-244.
After cornering the truck, OHP troopers were able to take the driver into custody. They identified him as Hausner.
Hausner struggled while being arrested and told officers he ran because he did not want to go to prison because he was on a suspended sentence.
He admitted to trying to break into the convenience store with a newspaper box to get a Red Bull energy drink.
Officers found a newspaper box in the back of his truck.
Hausner was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on 2nd Degree Burglary, felony eluding, Assault With A Deadly Weapon on a police officer, resisting arrest and other complaints.
Hausner has prior felony convictions and a suspended sentence.
