CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police report a North Charleston man was arrested Tuesday for breaking into car on Cooper Street, downtown.

The suspect, 20-year-old Donald Desmond Montez McFadden, is charged with breaking into a motor vehicle.

According to police, McFadden broke into cars in the area of Cooper and Hanover streets. A police report shows that the victim parked on the street outside her church. When she returned, she found that her passenger side door had been pried open and her car stereo had been stolen.

Charleston Police were able to identify a suspect through forensic evidence recovered at the scene.

A CPD spokesperson says he believes McFadden may be wanted by other local agencies on similar charges.
